Dr. Janet Horwitz Claim

I am a Clinical Psychologist with more than 20 years of experience working with individuals and couples. I received my Psy.D. (Doctorate of Psychology) in 1992 from Widener University and have been licensed in the State of Pennsylvania since 1994. I have advanced training in Emotionally Focused Couples Therapy (EFT), am a member of the International Center for Excellence in EFT (ICEEFT); The Philadelphia Center for EFT; and The Philadelphia Society For Psychoanalytic Psychology (PSPP). Currently, I practice out of my office in Center City Philadelphia.

When I look back, one of the most challenging and defining experiences in my life was in my very early years as a Psychologist, working with adjudicated youth, on whom everyone had given up any hope. I developed a more profound sense of compassion for those often suffering the greatest, and yet feeling the most misunderstood. I had a positive impact on the lives of these youth as they responded to my warmth, sensitivity, and authenticity.
